      In a time when film seems to be struggling due to lack of movie theater attendance, television thrived and continued its reign over entertainment. We've had some spectacular new shows ( WandaVision , Hacks ), shows that improved upon previous seasons ( Saturday Night Live , Rick and Morty ), and some wonderful comedy specials ( Bo Burnham: Inside , Tig Notaro: Drawn ). Below I'll list my top 15 TV episodes of the year along with my favorite Summer Olympic moments, and list the rest of my TV episodes in the comments. I will also be presenting my 2021 Trevie TV Awards. I limit myself to shows I've seen every episode/special that aired this year, with the exception of News Magazine shows ( New York Times Presents , 20/20 ).     Pandemic Year Two brought our big screen movies home earlier, and sometimes immediately. Films competed to be the "triumphant return to theaters" rather than "movie event of the year" because merely going out of the house has become an event in of itself. I didn't watch a lot of movies this year (I primarily stuck to television and music) so there aren't as many features on the list. There are, however, six short films representing more than 25% of the films on the list. Below, I'll list my favorite films of 2021 and then list my superlatives, which I call The Trevie Awards, out of my own amusement. So without further ado: Best Films of 2021: 1.       Last year I listened to more music than ever before, and this year I listened to even MORE! If you follow me on Instagram, you know I've made a list of critically-renowned and generally beloved albums from artists I've rarely listened to, if at all. It's been a fun little Pandemmy Project, and I think it's changed my music taste. Maybe. Eh, there's still a lot of pop music in this list.
